Build habits that fit your life, not theirs

Natural Lifestyle Letters

Hi Reader,

It’s tempting to copy someone else’s system.

I tried working out five times a week because it worked for my husband — and failed miserably.

Habits only work when they match your energy, your season, and your life rhythm.

Finding your own rhythm might mean working out at home while your child plays, sneaking in a run on your way home from work, or taking a quiet morning walk. The key is adapting, not copying.

Even small tweaks — like matching workouts to fasting times or choosing a ladies-only gym — can make habits feel natural instead of forced.

Now you might be thinking: What does working out have to do with a natural lifestyle?

Moving your body (in any way) is a natural way to balance your energy, and it’s one of the natural habits I truly advocate for.

But more importantly, the same approach applies to any natural lifestyle habit. When you adjust routines around your home, meals, and wellbeing, they become sustainable.

Even small rituals — like enjoying a morning cup of tea to naturally boost your energy — help you align habits with your body’s rhythm.

Now, sit with this question for a moment:

Where are you trying to live someone else’s routine instead of creating your own?

And:

What “shoulds” are you carrying that come from someone else’s expectations, not your own goals?

Mine were:

“I should work harder.”

At the time, I was working two jobs. It wasn’t until I quit one, started sleeping more, and focused on what actually made me feel calm (instead of restless) that things shifted.

“I should strive for a higher position at work.”

I was offered a higher position, but my life felt too messy to succeed in it. When I started creating natural lifestyle content with Blue Tea Tile instead of following a traditional career path, I felt balanced instead of scattered.

And then there was:

“I should work out five times a week, because my husband can — so I should too.”

I felt sick and like a total failure trying to force something I didn’t enjoy. As women, our energy works differently. Our hormone cycle is around 28 days, while men operate on a 24-hour cycle.

When I listened to my body and followed my energy, I discovered the times of day that actually felt good for movement (I’m one of those annoying early-bird people) — and the times when rest was better. By tuning into my own rhythm instead of forcing someone else’s schedule, the habit naturally settled in. Movement became effortless instead of a task on my to do -list.

Get inspired by other people’s lives, but always adapt ideas to your season and lifestyle.

We need to stop copying other people’s systems and tune back into our own feelings — letting them guide us toward a more balanced life.

Every day makes a difference ♡
