✨ What is coming

Reader, now when we are slowly sliding into autumn (September is just around the corner!) we are getting into a more cozy lifestyle mood.

I want to reveal a bit what you can await from this autumn and even Christmas time in following letters (too early to mention?)...

First of all autumn is a THE time for Danish hygge and other Nordic lifestyle habits that will make the darkening time just so much more hyggligt ( = hygge-like cozier).

Countdown starts

Hygge matches well with the Swedish fika which means a coffe break with cake and friends.

Commonly the cake part in fika would be a bun, more precisely a delicious cinnamon bun.

So through this autumn, I will be sharing with you different kind of Nordic sweet bun recipes to enjoy with coffee or tea and friends.

I'll share these recipes until 4th of October when in Finland we have the national Cinnamon roll day (one of my favourite days in the year 🤍) so you can have a good excuse to make and test some sweet rolls from scratch during this autumn.

Every day makes a difference. ♡

Sonja

PS. Today you can check out the basic pulla dough, the sweet bun dough recipe with cardamom which is the key base for every Nordic bun coming to your way and have a hyggligt fika with some spiced coffee.

Cozy blanket, a cup of steaming dark hot chocolate, a good book and yes - a freshly baked korvapuusti, a cinnamon roll, in the other hand. Also this year (like every year) at the traditional café where I work, we have already yesterday piled...

A girl is grabbing one of the yummy-looking Danish cinnamon snails, kanelsnegle, on the serving board on a coffee table.

These are quite similar in taste to Finnish Cinnamon buns but slightly simpler to shape. Use my go-to basic sugar bun dough for this one! Roll the dough out and mix the filling: 100 g soft butter (room temperature) 150 g caster sugar 1,5 tbsp ground cinnamon pinch of salt (if you are using unsalted butter) Mix together and spread on the outrolled dough. Roll it, but not too...
