The Art of Living Seasonally

The art of living seasonally

Have you noticed, Reader, how the energy levels change during the seasons of the natural world? In summer, we have plenty of energy, and rainy days get us curled up with a blanket. Following the natural flow of energy with the rhythms of the natural world is beneficial for our well-being.

It roots us.

It gives balance and structure.

I used to struggle with the idea of doing all the things I wanted any time of day or any time of year, and didn't care if I was a bit tired, if I just wanted something to be done - well, I did it no matter what.

Sounds familiar?

I can say honestly that only in the past few years I have been more merciful to myself. Observed my coping and energy, and the most important thing, planned things ahead using habits and routines to succeed and not to fail. Before, I said yes to too many things and filled up my calendar with all kinds of plans that used all my energy, and made me super tired and cranky.

Sounds familiar?

It took me years to understand the art of living seasonally, and still learning every day, every season.

The easiest seasons to follow are the natural main seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter.

So, currently, we are stepping into the season of summer.

Summer brings us energy, rhubarbs grow in the garden, and food to forage from the forest.

It's time to tackle the projects you have been pushing later. Learn new skills, hike in nature, see new places, and make old friends.

This is your reminder to take advantage of the season at hand.

Have a beautiful day ♡
