How to balance energy naturally

Hi, Reader,

we all know the boosting energy of coffee, but did you know that tea also contains caffeine, which is also known by the name theine in tea? And which is an amazing thing to balance your energy naturally?

When living naturally it is crucial to know what you are consuming and how it affects you both nutritionally and what it does to your energy levels. (This is not an ode to energy drinks, you may have guessed it already...)

Like sugar, caffeine in coffee gives a quick energy boost and alertness, which can cause a crash in energy afterwards.

But tea.

Theine in tea absorbs more slowly because it contains several components that slow down the release process.

Like L-theanine. It's an amino acid in loose-leaf tea that promotes relaxation and focus. It gives you stable energy for a longer period.

I tell it again, because it is so cool:

Tea promotes relaxation AND focus.

Which means that you can use it to your advantage. And here is how to balance your energy naturally using theine and caffeine:

COFFEE
☕️ Gives alertness and a quick, strong energy boost.
☕️ Let coffee fuel you when you need energy fast for a short period.
→ For busy mornings, quick phone calls that need your attention, simple meetings...

Try these: Spiced coffee | French press iced coffee

TEA
🫖 Gives relaxation and gentle focus, releasing the energy slowly.
🫖 Drink tea when you need to focus for a longer period.
→ For studying, researching, creativity...

Try these: Moroccan mint & green tea | Iced black tea with honey & lemon

HERBAL TEA
🍵 Avoid caffeine (and theine) altogether.
🍵 Choose herbal tea for relaxation and unwinding.
→ For slow evenings, peaceful afternoons, relaxing...

Try these: Rooibos iced teaNordic spiced hibiscus glogg

Being intentional, you can balance your energy levels naturally, no artificial boosters needed.

Every day makes a difference. ♡

Sonja

A Finnish cinnamon roll on the plate for the Cinnamon Roll Day

Also this year (like every year) at the traditional café where I work, we have already yesterday piled...

A girl is grabbing one of the yummy-looking Danish cinnamon snails, kanelsnegle, on the serving board on a coffee table.

Reader, the next in our Nordic bun recipe series is the delicious Danish treat: Kanelsnegle, the Cinnamon Snails. These are quite similar in taste to Finnish Cinnamon buns but slightly simpler to shape. Use my go-to basic sugar bun dough for this one! Roll the dough out and mix the filling: 100 g soft butter (room temperature) 150 g caster sugar 1,5 tbsp ground cinnamon pinch of salt (if you are using unsalted butter) Mix together and spread on the outrolled dough. Roll it, but not too...
